Fantazzmo: What does it take to launch a successful music career TODAY?

What does it take to launch a successful music career TODAY?

MONEY

One word, "MONEY!" That's what it takes to launch a successful music career in 2011. I know what you're thinking, it's always been that way, well you're right, but now YOU, the independent artist needs to have it more than ever! If you don't have it, know someone who has it or know how to get it, you're in for a long & bumpy ride.

Long, long ago in a bygone era, an artist had some great tunes, an image, played live, or cut demos; then hopefully someone with connections heard it or saw the artist perform and signed the artist to a record label. The artist then had a credit card with no limit & time to dedicate and develop their music career.

Those days are gone! Today's musician is most likely an independent artist funding everything themselves. Today's artist must have a higher skillset and knowledge to get ahead in the music world. What today's musician needs is a college education so that he/she can make the most money possible to support themselves, their music career and maybe even a family.

Today's musician needs to know about business, marketing, video production, website design, graphics, or they have to pay for it all THEMSELVES!

My point is you need money to launch your music career. You need instruments, rehearsal space, demos, albums, computers, videos, camaras, marketing, signs, merchandise, pr, the list goes on and on. The independent artist must foot the bill for all of this.

If you're not born wealthy, or connected, chances are you're like me and have to start from the bottom. You're gonna need great music, a whole lotta faith and enough determination to move mountains. Get an education, get money! Education=Money! Build a stream of income and you'll be better equipped than most.

Best of luck!
