I am fully aware that we are currently living in a singles driven society. Fantazzmo released its debut album Fantazzmo 1: Enter the Fantazz which is a full length album, a collection of songs because we want people to be able to familiarize themselves with our entire set before coming to see us live.
Every song on "Enter the Fantazz" can stand on its own merits and I'll defend every note on the album. Yes, many genres were explored on this debut effort and I will put any Fantazzmo song up against any song in that genre.
As a music lover and fan of many bands, I know that if I hear one great song by an artist, I will check out another song and another & so on. Having a full length album out allows people to check out 10 songs and 2 instrumentals by Fantazzmo.
We are currently performing live shows that are approx 30-45 min per set. If one song is 3.5 to 5 min long, what are people supposed to expect after just that one single? Are they expected to hear 40 min of unfamiliar music or cover tunes. Yes, most of the people we are playing for have not heard our album, but they can go back home and look us up online and go hey, that was that song! Or, yeah I remember that song too, it kicked ass! This way people have the opportunity of being familiar with every song we go up there and play!
"Fantazzmo 1: Enter the Fantazz" is a musical journey meant to be played from beginning to end. It lives and breathes, there are climactic moments and moments of reflection. It is paced and was organized after much consideration and thought. The album contains two instrumentals which give the album depth and lets you feel like it is longer than its 45 min playing time, then when it's done, you're like that was quick, I've gotta hear that again!
Fantazzmo is not trying to give people 10 songs in the same style. We're trying to create a musical canvas with color, depth, variety that keeps you entertained and guessing throughout and takes you through an emotional and fun musical journey. I don't like to be bored in life, music, movies, or anything. I like variety and "Enter the Fantazz" has a wealth of variety but is still a concise musical effort by one band.
We've given you 45 min of great music. Each song can hold its own ground, this will be further proven with the release of the remixes in 2012.
