Today is September 2, 2014, yesterday was the final day of recording for "War Path," which means all instrumentation is complete and the five song EP is now in the mixing stage, followed by the mastering stage and then I will have the completed sonic vision.
The interesting part of this moment in time is how I feel. One side of me is elated, with a childlike joy akin to the excitement of a 4 year old eagerly anticipating a trip to Disneyland the next morning.
Another part of me understands that this is not a time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of my labor, but instead to work twice as hard in preparation for photo shoots, video production and of course booking the next shows.
The next part of me is dreaming up the next song and focused on creating more songs; and imagining how they should sound & feel; understanding that the songwriting and production quality should reach yet a new level and push my creativity even further.
The final part of me is wondering how I am going to pay for it all! As an artist the goal is to keep creating, keep evolving, keep moving forward.
Once upon a time, an artists role was only to create. This is not my fate and I have accepted the challenge of my multiple roles. I am an artist, songwriter, guitarist, vocalist, manager, PR firm, graphic designer, record label CEO, band leader, driver, roadie, booking agent, and many more...and I am having a good time with this great learning experience and journey,
One thing for sure, I will not let four years pass by without releasing new material. "Enter the Fantazz," was released in 2010; that was a long time ago. Since then I have released a full cd of remixes, and an EP entitled, "Child of the Sun" which featured the two new singles, "Can't Let Go" and "Lil' Devil Stare." This is not an acceptable amount of output for an artist. By their fourth year of existence, Led Zeppelin had released four albums, the fourth of which sold 25 million copies. I know, I know....I am not Led Zeppelin, but my point is clear.
I spent the last four years learning how to manage and run a band, I am not going to say that I am even close to knowing anything, but I am going to do the best with the tools, knowledge & experience I have gained.
My producer, "Tone" who is an integral part of Fantazzmo and is responsible for materializing the vision and sound of Fantazzmo, asked me what is next, now that I am done tracking "War Path?" I said, "time to work my ass off!"
"War Path" will be available everywhere October 14, 2014...Until then, check out "Child of the Sun" and "Fantazzmo 1: Enter the Fantazz."
Cheers!
